Welding & Fabrication
ML (UK) Ltd has a comprehensive knowledge of the fabrication and welding processes, working from our facility in Portsmouth we can carry out various types of welding processes to a wide range of materials such as mild steel, structural grade steels, hardened materials, aluminium, stainless steel and other nonferrous materials;
- MMA (manual metal arc) to BS EN ISO 15614-1 2004+A2:2012
- MAG (metal active gas) to BS EN ISO 15614-1 2004+A2:2012
- TIG (tungsten inert gas) to BS EN ISO 15614-1 2004+A2:2012
- FCAW (flux-cored arc welding) BS EN ISO 15614-1 2004+A2:2012
Our on-site welding facilities to execute all our welding procedures are carried out with fully validated and modern self-generating equipment.
We have extensive experience and expertise in the fabrication, erection and repair of a wide variety of plant, equipment and structures used in the quarrying, civil engineering and construction industries along with marine engineering, steel supplies, forging capabilities, the repair/recertification of fork tines. Along with design capabilities, working in mild steels, stainless steel and aluminium materials we offer a wide ranging service to our customers.

ML UK has been constructing a huge variety of structural steelwork fabrications for many years. We have all the necessary structural fabrication expertise to construct reliable, high quality steelwork. We also use a selection of coating systems from hot dip galvanising, powder coating and high performance marine quality paints. Thanks to our ideal location, which is adjacent to our neighbouring Port of Flathouse Quay, we can facilitate large constructed units for direct shipment via marine plant or sea travelling vessels.
We construct large marine mooring structures that are both sturdy and reliable. They can withstand regular use thanks to the high-performance coatings that we apply to our constructions. We also construct steel pontoons that re heavily built, galvanised and in excellent condition.
Because we manufacture many different types of bespoke lifting attachments and associated equipment we have the facilities to test many different types of associated Lifting gear and equipment as required under LOLER (the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998) All our testing is carried out with certificated equipment and calibrated instrumentations
- Fork tines
- Fork tine lifting beams
- Crane attachments
- Spreader beams
- Hydraulic Hiab cranes
- Overhead cranes and gantries
- Ship gangways
